Junction Australia provides a variety of different housing options, and the rent payable is calculated differently for each housing option. For example, rent may be based on a percentage of your household income or on a percentage of the market rent, or at a set rent.

Your Tenancy Officer can provide you with more information about the rent calculated for the home you are living in.

Your rent is calculated weekly and charged to you each fortnight.

Fortnightly rent due dates are based on the date your tenancy with us started. If you are not sure what day each fortnight your rent is due, contact your Tenancy Officer.

It is important to ensure that you keep your rent two weeks in advance.

All rents are reviewed either annually, 6-monthly, or periodically as your circumstances change. This is dependent on the type of housing you are in.  For information about how often your rent will be reviewed and on what basis it will be reviewed, contact your Tenancy Officer.

It is important to advise your Tenancy Officer whenever your income or the income of your household changes. Your Tenancy Officer can review your rent to ensure you are being charged correctly.  

You can pay your rent in number of ways:

Centrelink Deduction – If you are in receipt of a Centrelink payment, you can set up a Centrepay Deduction directly from your Centrelink payments.  You can set this up yourself through Centrelink, or you can contact your Tenancy Officer for information about how we can set the deduction up for you through Centrelink.

Cash deposit at a Westpac Bank branch – you can attend any branch of Westpac Bank to deposit cash into the following account:

Payment reference: Unique Payment Reference Number (this can be given to you by your Tenancy Officer)

Electronic Funds Transfer – you can electronically transfer funds from your bank account to ours, on a regular basis or as you go. If you are set up for online banking with your bank, then you can do this online. Otherwise you can phone your bank or go into your local branch. Please note that it can take 2 full business days for funds to be moved electronically from your bank account to ours, so make sure you set the transfer up to reach us by your rent due date.

EFTPOS – EFTPOS payments can be made by Debit Card only by phoning (08) 8210 7000 or visiting one of the following Junction Australia offices:

Adelaide Office – 168 Greenhill Rd, Parkside
Marion Housing Office – 838 Marion Rd, Marion
Junction Centre – 34 Beach Rd, Christies Beach.

Cheque or Money Order – payment by cheque or money order posted to 168 Greenhill Rd, Parkside SA 5063. Include your Payment Book ID as your payment reference (this can be provided to you by your Tenancy Officer). Regular Australia Post can take up to 4 days to reach us, so it is your responsibility to allow time for your post to reach us on or before your rent due date.

Please note that if is your responsibility as our tenant to ensure your rent is paid.

While it is ultimately the responsibility of the tenant to pay their rent on time, we understand that difficulties can sometimes arise. So when things get tough, get in touch!

It is important that you contact your Tenancy Officer as soon as possible. If you do not contact your Tenancy Officer and you fall into rental arrears, we may take further action which could put your tenancy at risk.

You can request a rent statement, showing all rent charged and payments made, by phoning your Tenancy Officer.
