Maria Palumbo B.Comm Acc

With an extensive career in housing and community services that spans over 17 years at senior levels in both government and not for profit organisations, Maria is passionate about progressing social innovation that can affect permanent change in communities, and in the lives of those who are most vulnerable. As the previous Director of Housing Strategy at Renewal SA, Maria came to Junction Australia in early 2017 with an outstanding record of achievement and a wealth of experience. She was responsible for overseeing the largest transfer of social housing from the SA Housing Trust to community housing.

Maria was previously Board member of HomeStart Finance and the CEO of Common Ground Adelaide Ltd. Prior to this, she fulfilled Director positions at Housing SA, responsible for formulating Homelessness reforms across the state, as well as strategy, funding and regulation of community and affordable housing during a period of unpreceded investment and growth. She was also Executive Manager at UnitingCare Wesley, Country and has a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting and Finance, from Flinders University. 

 

 

 

Ian Simpson 

General Manager, Corporate Services

IanSimpson_jpg.jpgIan has an extensive background in senior management within the insurance industry, most recently in the areas of strategy, innovation, risk, governance, communications and business improvement.

Ian is responsible for Junction Australia’s Corporate Services functions and teams which includes ICT & Information Systems, Marketing & Communications, Partnerships & Fundraising, People & Culture as well as organisation wide projects. Ian has a Bachelor of Economics (Accounting), is a Chartered Loss Adjuster (Fellow) as well as a Senior Associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF).





Adam Green  B.Ec, Grad Dip. Acc, CPA, MBA

Adam has extensive experience in providing expert advice and leadership in areas such as financial strategies, reporting, audit and compliance.  He is adept at developing commercial and financially sustainable solutions leading to positive social outcomes.

 Adam joined Junction Australia in June 2016 after seven years of dedicated, and very highly regarded, service as Director Corporate Services at Relationships Australia.  Prior to that he has worked for several local government bodies in South Australia. 

 People who know Adam well describe his work performance as ‘excellent’ and say that he is very focussed, reliable, organised, people orientated and overall a diligent worker.  During his various roles he has also adopted and rolled out numerous financial management initiatives which have enabled organisations to better manage and report on key financial performance matters, make informed comment on budgetary comparisons and trend analysis which has ultimately led to more accurate forecasting, sound financial controls and improved management decision making. 

 He holds the following qualifications: Bachelor of Economics; Graduate Diploma of Accounting; Masters of Business Administration; and he is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).

 

 

 Wayne Gibbings

 Wayne joins Junction Australia following an experienced background in housing and urban development, having held senior positions in both the private and public sectors.

 Wayne has previously served on Junction Australia’s (Board) Housing Committee and has a deep understanding and appreciation of our social mission and the values of our organisation. He shares our passionate commitment to strengthening lives and communities.

Wayne’s experience in managing large and complex organisations and experience in change management will be of significant benefit to the organisation.

General Manager, Community Services

Kirsty had worked in both government and non-government organisations across the areas of families and children for over 15 years. She has held various positions throughout that time, including senior management roles.

Kirsty is deeply passionate about contributing to the wellbeing of children and families and has extensive experience in the area of child protection. She was actively involved in the recent Nyland Royal Commission into the state’s child protection system and welcomes the government response and implementation of new processes to protect our youngest and most vulnerable citizens.

Kirsty was a finalist in the Telstra Young Business Woman of the year Awards. She is also a Charter Champion for young people in care and a board member of the Child and Family Welfare Association. She enjoys working with teams to support staff to reach their full potential and ensure that services are delivered in a way that best optimises outcomes for children, young people and families.
