Next Step House

The Next Step House is a share accommodation for 3 young people at any one time.  Young people move from Junction House (24 /7 Homelessness Emergency Accommodation) to the Next Step as a part of their transition to Independent living. 

Many people, especially young people, experience isolation when they move into their own property. This feeling of isolation often leads to the young person being unsuccessful with maintaining their tenancy and they are at risk of becoming homeless again. The structured program offered at Next Step provides companionship and support to ease the transition and minimise the changes of an unsuccessful tenancy.

The program is tailored to each individual’s needs and includes group as well as individual support, including assistance with:

  • Shopping
  • Mental Health & Physical Health support
  • Education/Training
  • Financial Management
  • Community Connections
  • House Meetings
  • Transport
  • Advocacy
  • Mentoring

  • Brokerage Applications for setting up future tenancies
