Get Involved

We highly encourage our Tenants to get involved with Junction Australia and their local community in any way they can! From contributing ideas to running community events, we want all of our tenants to feel empowered, connected to the community and involved in what’s going on.

Why be involved?

There are many benefits to you, your family, other Tenants and your local community of being involved. Everyone has unique life experiences, skills, talents, interests and capacities. When you share ideas, plan and act with others you have the opportunity to express yourself and put all of your unique qualities into things beneficial. It helps strengthen your sense of purpose and your respect and appreciation for others in your community. Your family, too, can benefit from your enthusiasm and sense of participation. When you provide feedback and ideas about how Junction Australia can improve the services we provide, all Tenants can benefit.

What can I get in involved in?

There are many ways you can get involved in with Junction Australia and with your community. Here are just some of them:

  • Contribute to content ideas for our Tenant Connect Newsletter – just phone (08) 8210 7000 or email tenantengagement@junctionaustralia.org.au and let us know.
  • Attend a Tenant Connect Meeting or Gathering in your local area (see below). At these you can meet our staff, other Tenants and community members, perhaps share ideas and suggestions for improvement of our services and even plan and develop community building and community serving programs, activities and events for your local area.
  • Provide us with feedback about our services. At any time of the year you can provide us with feedback (compliments, complaints, suggestions) by logging your feedback through our website (click here to provide feedback online), by completing a feedback form at one of our offices or posting your feedback to us, or by giving your feedback directly to you Tenant Service Officer.
  • Participate in the various programs, activities and events we have throughout the year. Keep an eye out on our website, in the Tenant Connect Newsletter, your post box and in your email inbox (if you have registered your email address with us) for information about the various things happening and available from time to time.
  • Read your local and community newspapers and message boards at supermarkets for information on local groups, activities, events and programs.
  • Visit your Local Council office, library and community centre or their websites and browse to see what’s on and to keep informed about things that are of interest and benefit to you.

Tenant Meetings & Gatherings

In areas where we have high concentrations of housing and there is interest from Tenants, we hold Tenant Connect Meetings and Tenant Connect Gatherings.

At both you can meet our staff, other Tenants and community members. Our Tenant Connect Meetings are a great place and opportunity to share ideas and suggestions for improvement of our services, stay updated about what’s going in your community and at Junction, and even plan and develop community building and community serving programs, activities and events for your local area. While our Tenant Connect Gatherings are more social in nature and provide a great opportunity for connection and socialisation with other Tenants and our staff, there’s still ample flexibility to make it more structured or to plan and develop common interests and goals in the community – that’s up to the participating Tenants!

To find out if there is a Tenant Connect Meeting or Gathering near you, and for dates and locations, please see suburb information below. If there isn’t a Tenant Connect Meeting or Gathering in your area at the moment but you are interested in attending one, let our Tenant Engagement Officer know by phoning (08) 8210 7000 or emailing tenantengagement@junctionaustralia.org.au. If other Tenants in your area also share an interest in participating also let us know, and we can explore setting up a Tenant Connect Meeting or Gathering close to you.
